Subject: Demand for Immediate Sanctions on South Africa for Violations of Human Rights
We, the undersigned, write to express our deep concern and indignation over the ongoing human rights violations in South Africa. The systematic abuses, lack of accountability, the disregard for human lives and fundamental freedoms warrant urgent intervention by the international community.
Reasons for This Petition:
1. Systematic Human Rights Abuses
Evidence has emerged of systemic violations including deliberate delaying of documentation by the South African home affairs to make legal foreign nationals become illegal in the country, and make them wait years before getting their paperwork’s sorted out, regardless of whether they have met the requirements according to their laws: hence creating illegal immigrants that further gets arrested and extorted for their release. The South African media created a TV show called Sizokhola where they criminally arrests and coarser Nigerian Nationals into admitting on camera, to dealing on drugs with the intent to indoctrinate their people and defaming the Nigerian brand. A lady with a tick-tock handle named Victoria_ Africa goes around with a mob and camera crew bullying foreign nationals with honest working businesses and unlawful forcing them out of their business premises. This lady further organised a protest where she took minors not more that 5 with placards on the streets clamouring for black African foreigners to leave their country, while singing ABAHAMBE meaning Foreigners must leave. Another group of mobs without judiciary orders called Operation Dudula which also goes around targeting black African business owners and taking over their businesses, while asking them to leave. In the past decades we’ve had testimonies of innocent honest working Nigerians that have had their shops looted and burnt down all because of this hate for black Africans. And their government have done nothing about it. This entire propaganda creating negative images on baseless defamatory fallacies have lead to the total unjustified killings of 127 Nigerians in recent years as recorded by Sahara Reporters. And of course the latest killings of one Mr Uche Ejiofor a 56 year old restaurant owner who was stabbed multiple times right in front of his daughter for failing to held to their earlier threats to abandon his family and assets and leave South Africa. And the killing of one Mr Chukwunta Julius Friday as reported by the Nigerian Union president in South Africa, Mr chukwunta was equally executed right in front of his South African girlfriend who have decided to remain anonymous due to fear for her life as well. And for the
discriminatory policies, suppression of freedom of expression, unjust imprisonment, or targeted violence]. These abuses contravene the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international treaties to which South Africa is a party.
2. Violation of Minority Rights
The failure to protect minority groups from [specific examples, such as hate crimes, discriminatory legislation, or neglect of socio-economic disparities] undermines the country’s commitment to inclusivity and justice. This ongoing marginalization is a direct violation of Article 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
3. Failure to Uphold Democratic Principles
South Africa’s governance has increasingly been marked by [examples, such as suppression of dissent, erosion of judicial independence, or corruption]. This undermines democracy, transparency, and the rule of law, creating an environment ripe for further abuses.
4. International Obligations and Non-Compliance
South Africa has consistently failed to uphold its obligations under international law, ignoring warnings and recommendations from human rights bodies. Its inaction perpetuates suffering and signals impunity.
Call to Action:
We urge the United Nations to take the following actions without delay:
1. Implement Targeted Sanctions against South African officials and entities directly responsible for human rights violations.
2. Initiate a Comprehensive Investigation through the UN Human Rights Council to document abuses and hold perpetrators accountable.
3. Suspend Voting Rights in the UN or other privileges until South Africa demonstrates concrete progress in addressing human rights concerns.
4. Strengthen International Oversight by deploying UN-appointed observers to monitor the situation on the ground.
Conclusion:
The global community cannot stand by as South Africa continues to violate the fundamental rights of its people. Meaningful international action is essential to restore justice, uphold human dignity, and prevent further violations.
We respectfully demand that the United Nations take immediate, decisive steps to sanction South Africa and ensure compliance with international human rights standards.
